Tool
Sports Broadcast Time
Pick a kickoff / start time for a global sports broadcast that lands inside prime-time windows in your key markets.
What makes this different
The "fall-asleep" check is the differentiator. Even if a market falls inside the prime-time window, if the local hour is later than 23:00 it is technically prime time but attendance will collapse. The tool downgrades such slots.
How to use it
- Add the markets you care about.
- Set the desired prime-time window per market.
- Read the candidate UTC start times, ranked by how many markets fall inside the window.
For a sports league expanding internationally, the "Saturday 19:00 local" tradition in one country is the "Sunday 02:00 local" disaster in another. This tool picks a UTC start time that lands inside prime-time windows (typically 19:00-22:00 local) for your key markets.
Frequently asked questions
Why is 23:00 not considered prime time?
Because broadcast viewership drops sharply past 23:00 local, even if the slot is "inside" the prime-time band. The tool marks 23:00+ as a soft-no.
What about weekend-only sports?
The tool does not differentiate weekdays/weekends; that is your call. Most leagues run a 2-3 day window.
Why is the recommendation sometimes a tie?
Because two markets with overlapping prime-time windows leave several UTC hours that satisfy both. Pick the tie-breaker based on which market you most want to favour.
