What makes this different
Most week-day tools assume everyone is on the same calendar week. This one draws each city local week relative to the same instant, then solves the two operational problems teams actually care about: when to send the Friday wrap-up email, and when to deploy the Monday morning build.
How to use it
- Pick the cities you want to align.
- Read the weekly ribbon for each city, anchored to your week.
- The best Friday wrap-up suggestion is the latest wallclock time that still falls inside working hours for all cities.
- The earliest Monday launch suggestion is the earliest wallclock time on Monday morning at which everyone is back at work.
The weekend is one of the most underestimated timezone pitfalls. If your Friday wrap-up is at 17:00 in New York, it is already 23:00 in London and 08:00 Saturday in Tokyo, not the same Friday afternoon. This tool draws each city working week on a horizontal timeline so you can see who is at the office, who is in the pub, and who is asleep, and lets you lock a Friday wrap-up and Monday launch time that respects everyone normal hours.
Frequently asked questions
Does this respect local public holidays?
No. Public holidays are not encoded in the browser Intl database. If a city has a long weekend, the working-week assumption breaks. Cross-check with a holiday calendar before locking a deployment.
Why is the Friday wrap-up not 17:00 everywhere?
Because Friday 17:00 in New York is not Friday 17:00 in Tokyo. The tool finds the latest wallclock hour that is still inside working hours for all selected cities.
What if no time works for everyone?
If your team spans more than about 7 hours of offset, there is no single Friday wrap-up hour that respects everyone working hours. The tool will tell you.
